Abberton Reservoir

 Abberton Reservoir 4th January

Spent most of the day at Abberton Reservoir. Arrived while it was still quite dark, as it began to brighten I thought I'd crank my ISO up to 3,200 so I could take a few, and then as it got lighter, I won't say brighter as it never did the whole time I was there until 2.30pm, in fact, it drizzled with rain most of the time, I dropped it back to 1600. And here is the schoolboy error, throughout the rest of the day I forgot about it. So yes there is some noise, although today's cameras and software do a pretty good job eliminating it.....But I know it's there!

55 bird species seen including Goosander, Goldeneye, Great White Egret possibly 10 around and closer than the Rainham bird on Saturday, 5 Cattle Egrets, pair Scaup, and unexpectedly a Red-necked Grebe and Great Northern Diver both too distant to photograph. Another note to self, take some flipping gloves next time the wind was cold and difficult at times to get out of!
